'Lots"
of History
The
Lots of History project is an innovative educational partnership between
the Greater Newark Conservancy, The Newark Museum, the New Jersey Historical
Society, and the Newark Public Library. Lots of History is designed
to involve teachers and students in using vacant lots as tools to reconstruct
neighborhood histories. The vacant lot is a unique resource which lends
itself to an integrated approach to teaching natural history (botany,
zoology, geology), architecture, social history and research methods.
