What do you do when you want a graphically rich web page design but have few suitable graphics to work with? Many times clients simply don't have many relevant graphics of suitable quality. Here is a trick I devised that you may find useful.

In the web design below, only two photos are used. However, the main top photo (left) photo is repeated three times. Notice the three photos on the right side of the sample site? They are enlarged cropped portions of the top left image. I cropped the image in a way to highlight interesting sections of the photo. The overall effect? The page beautifully portrays the romance and drama of sailing while using only two photos!

When using this technique, careful cropping of interesting portions of the original photograph is essential to making an interesting (not redundant) layout.
