Health Issues Web Site Design

This web design is for a not-for-profit endeavor that seeks to create a community of women who share the challenges of infertility and/or pregnancy loss. The core of this website is a message board where women come together online in a mutually supportive environment.

At first, the client and I decided not to use any images of people on the site. We wanted the design to simply convey the themes of warmth and comfort through color and form only. However, I had a graphic of a portrait done by one of the "old masters," that I thought would be perfect for this website. The portrait is serene, and seems to mirror both the strength and struggle of women facing infertility or pregnancy loss. Plus the colors and setting of the image were soothing and inviting. As you can see, it made a perfect backdrop for this website. Hopefully, it will be a welcome site for the women who support this cause in the months and years ahead.
